Hi Macs solid surfaces update – Autumn 2013

Interior architect and industrial designer Karim Rashid has launched the sparkle collection to defeat the winter blues in collaboration with Hi Macs LG at the 100% Design exhibition in London.

This range is to be launched across the globe and some of the colours will be available in Europe from 2014.

Zaha Hadid, Jean Nouvel, Rafael Moneo, and David Chipperfield, among others, have carried out astonishing projects using HI-MACS®, across different museums, hotels and futuristic furniture pieces.

Further to the above, Hi Macs was awareded European Technical Approval (ETA) for façades – for its colour Alpine White S728 –  by the European Organization for Technical Approvals (EOTA).

The kitchen worktops have been manufactured with a 900mm depth to improve accessibility to its hob. It also features a futuristic, ergonomic design.

LED lights underneath the worktops is one of the main focal points of the kitchen, highlighting the magenta colour into an aluminum slot whilst the interior lights reflect into the glass providing a vivid integral design aspect.

Black colour from the solid range was launched back in 2012 and is now also available in a 9mm thickness besides its   standard 12mm

Hi Macs solid surfaces can be used in both internal and external applications , especially for facades.

LG Hausys recommends 12 colours for external applications, including Opal from its  Lucent range, allowing interior designers  to work with visible light effects on exterior wall cladding.

Hi Macs by LG is made up  of approximately 30% acrylic resin and 5% natural pigments. Its main constituent, with 70%, is the natural mineral aluminum hydroxide obtained from bauxite.

Some of the advantages of this material are its almost limitless versatility in design,
hygienic  properties  for its use in food preparation and laboratories, an impressive range of matching sinks and bowls and resistance to almost every household chemical.
It has an incredible performance ratio and comes with a 15 year manufacturer’s warranty for the end consumer.
