Blue Amazonite quartzite is an exotic natural stone from Brazil also known as the Gemstone Blue Amazon that has been used throughout many civilizations, starting with the Egyptians who used this stone to make ornamental pieces. Blue Amazonite stone owes its name to the belief that this impressive jewel was originally discovered near the Amazon River although in reality it is quarried in other Brazilian areas.

Blue Amazonite displays a vivid blue-green backdrop and a striking array of minerals in green feldspar with a medium to coarse grain presence made up of high quality crystals. Similar gemstone can also be found in places in the USA, Canada and Madagascar alongside Brazil.

Blue Amazonite is a delicate stone that can crack if not handled professionally. Its use is recommended for panels and focal areas rather than for demanding applications such as kitchen worktops as it may loose is gloss under demanding usage conditions. Its opaque to translucent mineral make up results in an incredible gloss finish when polished.
