Compac Portoro quartz is a black background stone with white veins that uses a BIO resin to bind together grains of quartz and other minerals plus colouring agents, into a flexible and adaptable surface that can be used for flooring, wall cladding and worktops.
From the end user’s perspective, this means no opportunity for water penetration, and no hiding place for germs and bacteria, a concern in any kitchen. The blending of two or more materials results in patterns which are consistent throughout the manufacturing run, but with details that are always unique: no two areas of any particular worktop will be completely identical.
Compac, the Surfaces Company, is a renowned manufacturer of conglomerate products with 5 lines for their production of quartz and bases in all 5 continents. The matte black shows ever water spot, streak, and fingerprint. I like the description of the product but am terrified that if hot grease gets on the surface it will leave marks. The matte black looks good from afar white white cabinets, but is very hard to keep clean.
Maria Kairuz – :
Hello Amanda,
Your comments are correct. Black matt stone requires more maintenance that lighter colours. We recommend to choose a black surface that displays, speckles, veins and/or patterns since it tricks the human eye, making it difficult to see any usage marks
