Dekton Portum is a sintered stone surface suitable for kitchens, floorings and bathrooms. In contrast with natural stone, Dekton Portum won’t scratch, stain nor etch when exposed to coloured substances from foods. In addition, this natural white surface will add the natural look of marble and quartzite to modern and classic designs.
From the most remote mountains, the Portum colour is born: a white backdropped surface with randomly scattered veins to bring natural aesthetics into any space.
Dekton Portum offers shades with neutral hues and a velvety matt finish to elevate the aesthetics of any room. In addition, the inspiration of this material is based on not only technicality and great performance but also in using organic colours and textures. Just like its counterpart Dekton Bergen, Portum is super practical and easy to use.
The exclusive personality displayed by the new Dekton Natural Portum tones is ideal for use in both residential and commercial applications including kitchen worktops direct, splashbacks and wet areas.
Dekton is a sintered stone, made from a unique formula of natural quartz stone, porcelain, glass and other raw materials. These organic components are blended and compressed with extreme pressure to result in a product that is impervious to staining and highly resistant to scratches and heat.
Due to its technical characteristics, Dekton Portum can withstand up to 300 C of heat. This enables the end-user to drag pots and pans directly on to its surfaces without damaging the stone. Despite this claim, it always best to use a trivet to place hot items from the oven.
For daily maintenance, you can use a window spray and kitchen cloth. Dekton is totally non-porous and it will never require sealants or additional coatings.
For Limescale marks, you can use white vinegar, leaving it to rest for one minute. Rinse with plenty of warm water and a scouring pad. Dry with a kitchen towel.
Portum is available in thicknesses of 4 mm, 8 mm, 12 mm, 20 mm and 30mm. We recommend 4 mm, 8mm and 12mm for cladding; and 12mm thickness and over for kitchen worktop and countertop applications.
Dekton uses a Sintered Particle which works at a molecular rather than granular level, which ensures the material has practically zero water porosity, enabling it to work on any environment and foods including colourants such as curry, lemon, coffee and ketchup.
