Silestone Chrome is a quartz stone with a mid-grey base and a array of speckled metal inserts scattered throughout its surface. In the first place, it offers a distinctive metallic look in any space in which it is displayed. Secondly, Chrome belongs to the Platinum Series of Silestone. It was launched in 2009 with an advertising campaign leaded by the Spanish Formula One racing driver Fernando Alonso.
In addition, The Platinum Series is composed a metallic-looking range of five colours. Uniquely, these are created by curing the quartz compound at a higher temperature than that of standard Silestone colours.
Silestone Chrome contains approximately 95% pure natural quartz. Then it is mixed with a unique patented technology that results in a non-porous, anti-bacterial surface. The resulting product is both strong yet flexible and highly resistance to staining and scratches. In turn, this makes it ideal for areas that demand long lasting and durable materials.
Chrome is made out of quartz which means it is easy to maintain. Besides, it does not require sealing and does not bring any issues associated to light granite.
Silestone quartz has outstanding mechanical properties such as hardness, resistance to impact and scratching, low absorption and a unique anti-bacterial property making it extremely hygienic and ideal for areas in which cleanliness comes second to no other requirement such as food preparation, healthcare facilities, laboratories, universities and schools.
The product is available in both tiles and slab formats with dimensions of 3040x1380mm which allow for large seamless designs that require surfaces that offer sleek designs and aesthetics.
The quartz surfaces are available in a Suede finish; this tactile texture surface is also adaptable to more traditional and/or industrial settings and features. It also offers a Volcano Finish, which has a heavy texture which will suit contemporary as well as traditional and industrial spaces.
